Pick Your Own Flowers at MERRI FLOWERS
Because of the adverse weather conditions over past few years we always put PYOs on the ‘maybe’ pile for within the scope of our business.
In 2025 we grew SUNFLOWERS & DAHLIA.
In 2026 we plan to offer SUNFLOWERS & SUN LOVING FLOWERS.
Let’s see if our plan works…..
SUN LOVING FLOWER PLOT
Our sun loving flower plot will be right next to our ‘Hanger’ so a very, very short walk from our main entrance.
Our 2026 Plot will consist of
Amaranthus, Cosmos, Dahlia*, Statice, Strawflowers, Sunflowers, Zinnia
*Please Note: Dahlia will be limited to 5 stems per ticket (because they are a premium stem)
WHATS AVAILABLE?
Week 27th July = Amaranthus, Cosmos, Statice & Strawflowers.
It’s not a big plot, but big enough to cater for at least 6 tickets per event.
We will adjust ticket availability according to stems in flower.
Please bring your our scissors and maybe a bucket to transport them home in if don't live close by or have brunch plans.
Please arrive by 10am to make the most of your allocated 1 hour PYO experience.
Come RAIN or SHINE our Picking Events will go on.
In the event of ‘adverse’ weather conditions, Eg a Thunderstorm, we may have to cancel this event, but we will decide the evening before the event.
We have plans to grow MERRI
This coming season we’re observing what grows well in challenging weather conditions with plans to increase the size of our PYO plot and expanding what we grow, all with careful attention to shifting weather patterns.
To make sure every stem we supply thrives under drier, sunnier summers, we trialed only sun‑loving, drought‑tolerant varieties through 2026 — and the results are clear: these stems perform exceptionally well, holding color, stem strength despite heat and limited water.
The 2026 trials were selected for sun tolerance, drought resilience, and quality — and they’ve proven their worth.
Why this matters to us
Consistent supply: enlarging the plot means more pick‑your‑own stems and ‘maybe’ offering wholesale availability during August–September, so you won’t run out when demand peaks.
Climate‑smart quality: drought‑tolerant varieties maintain appearance and longevity, reducing crop failure risk from unpredictable weather.
Sustainable choice: these varieties require less irrigation, lowering our environmental footprint and supporting a more resilient local supply chain.

How It Works
Purchase a ticket: Please purchase a ticket before arrival using the links on this page
Bring Your Own Scissors and Container: Please bring a pair of kitchen scissors or secateurs and a bucket to transport your flowers home.
Browse the plots: Find your favourite flowers to snip yourself 15 stems to brighten up to home or gift to a friend.

The ground within our fields is uneven so we highly recommend closed-toes shoes
